How customers see and open catalogs on the page
4.1 Expandable brand bars
Section titled “4.1 Expandable brand bars”The downloads page lists every brand as a bar. Each bar shows a logo (if configured), the brand name, and the document count. Customers tap a bar to open the list of documents inside it.
- Only one brand can be open at a time, tapping a new brand automatically closes whichever one was open.
- A brand with no documents does not appear on the page (see Chapter 2.4).
4.2 Individual document cards
Section titled “4.2 Individual document cards”Once a brand is open, all its documents display as cards. Each card shows:
- A preview image (if configured), or a generic document icon if none was set
- The document title
- A type label, color-coded by type (catalog / brochure / datasheet), so customers can tell them apart at a glance
4.3 Opening or downloading
Section titled “4.3 Opening or downloading”Customers tap a card to open the PDF instantly in a new tab. No login, no form, and no sign-up required. Documents open on mobile, tablet, and desktop, on any device with a PDF reader.
4.4 Finding documents
Section titled “4.4 Finding documents”The page doesn’t have a dedicated search box. Customers find documents by opening the relevant brand, then scanning preview images and type labels to pick the one they need. That’s why giving documents clear titles (see Chapter 3.1) and adding preview images helps customers find what they’re looking for faster.
4.5 Contact or “request more info” button
Section titled “4.5 Contact or “request more info” button”Some pages may include a “Ask about this product” or “Request more information” button placed next to a product category or brand. When a customer taps it, a short contact form opens for name, email, and message. This is an optional feature arranged as part of each website’s design, not every site has it.
