The Digital Menu for Guests

What guests see and how they use the menu

This section covers what guests see when they scan the QR. It applies to both tiers, the only difference is that Pro adds an “Add to cart” button, while Lite is view-only and guests order with staff.

3.1 The menu page

The menu opens as a single page that scrolls smoothly on a phone:

• 🗂️ Categories run along the top (for example Soups / Stir-fries / Snacks / Drinks). Tap one to jump to it.
• 🖼️ Each dish shows a photo, name, a short description, and the price.
• 🌶️ Diet badges appear on dishes that qualify (see 3.3).

3.2 Switching language

Guests tap the flag buttons at the top of the page to switch language any time:

Dish names, categories, and descriptions display in the chosen language. You enter the text for each language in the Admin Panel (see section 4).

Switch on only the languages you want

You choose how many languages to enable. A venue with many Chinese tourists might enable Thai + English + 中文, while a local venue might use just Thai + English. Ask miraTEQ to set it up.

3.3 Diet badges

The system detects and adds badges to dishes automatically from the dish name, helping foreign guests and those with dietary needs choose more easily:

Badge	Meaning
🌶️ Spicy	Spicy dishes such as kaprao, yam, larb, tom yum
🌱 Vegan / vegetarian	Marked as vegan, vegetarian, or containing tofu
🐟 Raw fish	Raw-fish dishes such as sashimi

Badge not quite right?

Badges are read from the dish name. If you want to adjust one, make the name clearer (for example add the word “vegan” or “spicy”) and the badge follows. Badges are a helpful hint, not an allergy guarantee, always have your team confirm with guests who have allergies.

3.4 Dish detail

Tap a dish to open a detail sheet from the bottom of the screen, showing a large photo, the full description, price, and diet badges.

• In Pro it includes an “Add to cart” button and a note field (for example “mild please”)
• In Lite it is view-only, guests note what they want and tell the waiter

3.5 Call a waiter (Lite optional · Pro)

If the call-waiter bell is enabled, guests see a floating “Call waiter” button. Tapping it sends a signal straight to the service view, so staff know which table needs help.

The bell in Lite

The call-waiter bell is an optional Lite extra (sometimes called “Lite-Plus”) and always comes with Pro. It lets guests call a waiter without waving.
