Signing In, Roles & Staff Accounts
Who signs in how, what each role sees, and how you manage staff
9.1 Two ways to sign in
Section titled “9.1 Two ways to sign in”The sign-in screen has two tabs:
| Tab | Who uses it | What you type |
|---|---|---|
| PIN | Everyone on the floor: kitchen, service, cashier, manager | A 4 to 8 digit PIN |
| Owner | You | Your password |
A PIN is fast enough to type on a wet kitchen tablet and short enough to remember, and each person has their own. Nobody needs to know your password.
9.2 What each role sees
Section titled “9.2 What each role sees”The panel only shows the tabs a role actually needs. Everything else is not just hidden, it is out of reach.
| Role | Tabs |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything: Kitchen · Pre-orders · Service · Cashier · Menu · Tables · QR code · History · Analytics · Staff · Appearance · Notifications · Trash · Audit log |
| Manager | The same, except Staff and the Audit log |
| Kitchen | Kitchen · Notifications |
| Service | Kitchen · Pre-orders · Service · Notifications |
| Cashier | Cashier · History · Notifications |
9.3 Adding a member of staff
Section titled “9.3 Adding a member of staff”Open the 👥 Staff tab (owner only) and press + Add:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Shown in the panel and in the Audit log |
| Role | Kitchen, Service, Cashier, or Manager |
| PIN | 4 to 8 digits. This is their login |
Existing staff can be edited or deleted. Deleting asks first: “Delete [name]? Their login will stop working.” An account can also be set Inactive, which switches the login off without removing the person.
9.4 Your own password
Section titled “9.4 Your own password”The owner changes their password in the account area:
- The new password must be at least 12 characters
- A passphrase (three or four ordinary words) is safer than a short complicated one
- It survives every system update
9.5 The top bar
Section titled “9.5 The top bar”| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Auto-refresh | The panel reloads by itself every 10 seconds, so an order screen is never stale |
| Appearance | Switch the panel between light and dark. Dark is easier on a kitchen screen at night |
| Sign out | Ends the session on this device |
The browser tab itself shows the number of open orders, for example “(3) Kitchen, miraMENU”, so you can see it from another tab.
