The window of the text editor, your pages, and the search

9.1 After signing in

Signing in works as described in Chapter 2.1. If you may edit texts, the text editor opens on your homepage, called “Home”.

9.2 The window

The top bar carries your logo. On the right: “Search”, the “Publish” button with a number (only if you may publish), your name and “Sign out”.

The bar below belongs to the page that is open, and has three parts:

  • Left: a button that shows or hides the list of pages, the title of the page, and the languages of your website, for example EN and HE
  • Middle: the switch “View”, “Comment”, “Edit”, three small buttons for the preview size (desktop, tablet, phone) and a button that reloads the preview
  • Right: “Save”, as soon as there is something to save, and a button that shows or hides the edit panel

On the left is the list with the tabs “Pages”, “Shared” and “Fields”. Websites with articles have one more tab, named the way your website calls them, for example “Article”. The field “Filter …” above the list narrows it down.

In the middle is the preview of your page, the way a visitor sees it.

9.3 Switching pages

Click a page in the list on the left. In the mode “View” you can also click through the preview like a visitor, and miraCMS follows to the page you open.

If you switch with unsaved changes, miraCMS asks whether you really want to leave without saving. Cancel, save, then switch.

9.4 Searching

Press “Search”, or ⌘K on a Mac (Ctrl+K on Windows). Type a word from a headline or a field name. The search finds:

  • Pages of your website, drafts marked as such
  • Fields on this page, for example everything with “title” in its name
  • Actions such as “Publish to live”, if you may publish

Choose with the arrow keys and confirm with Enter. Esc closes the search.

9.5 How the page looks on a phone

The three size buttons show the page at the width of a desktop, of a tablet (768 px) and of a phone (390 px). You see how a text breaks on a phone without picking one up.
