Notifications on Your Phone
Get new bookings and cancellations on your phone the moment they happen
Open Notifications in the sidebar. The card at the top is called “Notifications on your phone”:
New bookings and cancellations arrive instantly on this device, even when the panel is closed. You still get the email.
This is the fastest way to hear about a booking. The email still arrives as before, this simply gets there first.
20.1 Switching it on
Section titled “20.1 Switching it on”Notifications are switched on per device, not per account. Your phone and the tablet at the counter are two separate switches, and each one has to be turned on where it stands.
- Open the panel on the device that should ring
- Go to Notifications
- Press “Turn on for this device”
- The browser asks for permission once, choose Allow
The card then reads “Switched on for this device.” and shows how many devices are registered in total.
20.2 Testing that it actually works
Section titled “20.2 Testing that it actually works”Press “Send a test notification”. Within a few seconds the device shows:
If you can see this, new bookings will now reach you straight away.
Do this once per device, right after switching it on. It is the only way to know the whole chain works, rather than assuming it.
20.3 When nothing arrives
Section titled “20.3 When nothing arrives”| What the card says | What it means, what to do |
|---|---|
| “Not switched on for this device yet.” | Nothing was turned on here. Press “Turn on for this device”. |
| “This device’s registration has expired. No notifications are arriving right now.” | Happens after a long break or a system update. Press “Switch on again”. |
| “The browser denied permission.” | The permission was refused at some point. Allow notifications again in the browser’s settings for this site, then switch on again. |
| “This browser cannot show notifications.” | An older browser, or an iPhone where the panel was not added to the Home Screen (see 20.1). |
| “The server cannot send notifications right now.” | Not something you can fix. Contact miraTEQ. |
20.4 Who gets which notification
Section titled “20.4 Who gets which notification”| Account | Receives |
|---|---|
| Owner | Every new booking and every cancellation for the whole business. |
| Team member (Chapter 21) | Only the appointments assigned to them, never anyone else’s. |
Team members can switch notifications on for their own device on the same page. The settings that decide what your guests receive (reminders, rebooking, review requests) are on the same page but visible to the owner only, they are described in Chapter 11.
