Saving and Publishing to Your Website

Understand the difference between saving and actually publishing to your live website

6.1 Autosave

Every time you add, edit, delete, or reorder an item, miraCMS saves it immediately. You’ll briefly see “Saving…” near the top of the list. There’s no separate save button to press, and no risk of losing your work.

6.2 Publishing to your website

Saving does not immediately change your live website. This gives you a chance to review everything first. Once there are unpublished changes, a green Publish button appears at the top of the screen.

Press it whenever you’re ready for customers to see the changes. The website may take a short moment to update afterwards.

Website up to date (checkmark shown)	Everything you’ve edited is already live on your website
Publish button appears	There are saved changes that aren’t live yet
Publishing…	The website is being updated right now, please wait

Why two separate steps

Separating “save” from “publish” lets you make several changes in one sitting (say, updating ten prices) and then publish them all at once when you’re ready, instead of customers seeing your website change mid-edit every time you touch a single item.

6.3 Leaving the page with unpublished changes

If you try to leave the catalog page while you still have unpublished changes, miraCMS asks whether you’d like to:

• Publish now and leave
• Leave now and publish later
• Stay on this page

Note

Whatever you choose, work you’ve already saved is never lost, it simply won’t appear on your live website until you press “Publish”.
