Saving and Publishing the Catalogue

Why a saved entry is not on your website yet, and how it gets there

6.1 Saved is not live yet

Every entry you save, delete or move is stored in miraCMS right away. Nothing gets lost when you close the window. Your live website, however, only changes when you publish.

6.2 Publishing

As soon as saved changes are waiting, the green “Publish” button appears at the top of the catalogue, in the place of “Website is up to date”. Press it when you are ready. While it runs, miraCMS shows “Publishing …”. After that it says “Published. The website is being updated now.”, and your website rebuilds itself, which takes a few minutes.

Why two steps

You can change ten prices in one sitting and publish once at the end. Guests then never see a half-finished catalogue.

6.3 Leaving with unpublished changes

If you leave the catalogue while changes are waiting, miraCMS asks “Not published yet” and offers three ways out:

• “Publish now & leave”
• “Publish later”
• “Stay here”

Whatever you pick, your saved work stays. It is just not on the live website yet.

Note

The catalogue, publishing included, needs the right “Manage catalog” for your login. miraTEQ switches it on. Without it, the catalogue does not open at all.
