Articles

Write a new article, keep it as a draft, and put it on your website

This chapter applies to websites with an article section, such as a blog or insights. On those, the list on the left has a tab of its own, named the way your website calls its articles, for example “Article”.

  1. Open the articles tab on the left and press + next to the tabs (it says “New Article” when you point at it)
  2. Type the heading
  3. Choose the language you start with. “The second language can follow later.”
  4. Check the address. miraCMS makes it from the heading, and it “Stays as it is, even if the heading changes later.”
  5. Press “Create”

The article “Starts as a draft. It only appears on the website once you make it visible.” In the list, a dot marks every draft (“Draft, not on the website yet”).

An article is edited like any page: click a text in the preview and change it (Chapter 10), replace the cover picture with “Replace image”, and save (Chapter 11). Your draft stays invisible to visitors the whole time.

Click the three dots next to the article in the list and choose “Make visible”. The menu explains: “Goes onto the website with the next publish”. Then publish (Chapter 11.3).

On an article that is In the menu What happens
Visible “Back to draft” It disappears from the website with the next publish
A draft “Delete Article” “Permanent, including all its texts”

A visible article cannot be deleted directly. Put it back to draft first. Otherwise its address would stay behind and lead nowhere.
